YR is a community, not a product category. Skincare, chocolate, drinks, craft and everyday objects can all belong — if we can explain the ingredients, the maker and why the choice matters.

What is inside — and why it is there.
We never begin with the packaging. We begin with the ingredient: where it grows, how it is harvested and how little processing it needs to be useful. If an ingredient cannot be explained clearly, it does not belong in a YR Choice.

Who made it, where it comes from and the knowledge behind it.
Behind every YR Choice is a person with a craft: a small brewery, a beekeeper, a chocolatier or a family-run laboratory. We visit, ask and listen before we choose — and we always tell you who made it.

Why YR chose this particular product.
The thinking matters more than the category. Skincare, chocolate, drinks or everyday objects — a YR Choice should make an everyday decision a little better, without asking you to change your life.

A YR Choice is something we would use ourselves. We explain the ingredients that matter, name the maker and make the reasoning visible. If we cannot explain all three, it does not receive the designation.
